Hanul believes that all people should receive accessible and affordable health care services regardless of their socioeconomic or immigration status so that they can stay healthy and get medical care when they need it. In order to act on the belief, Hanul Community Health Program was initiated particularly for the un- or under-insured Korean Americans in Chicago. Through collaboration with local hospitals, public health offices, and various health organizations, the Community Health Program has helped the medically disadvantaged maintain their health and well-being by linking them with available health care related programs and services. The Community Health Program include the following sub service categories; Health Seminar & Screening, Moms & Babies / All Kids / Family Care, and Resource & Referral |

Bridge to Better Breast Heath Program funded by Illinois Department of Public health, WomenĄŻs Health Office: is designed to increase knowledge and awareness of breast cancer among Korea American women. Educational health seminars about risk & preventive factors of breast cancer and screening services such as clinical breast exam and mammogram are provided through the project.
Protect Youth Health Project funded by National Asian WomenĄŻs Health Organization: is designed to raise immunization awareness among Korean American youth in Chicago. The project provides after-school health workshops which deal with issues such as substance abuse and vaccination at affiliated local high schools. The project also reaches out to parents and provides educational workshops in order to inform them of health related issues affecting their children and where to seek help for them.
Fighting Chronic Illness Club funded by Fry Foundation: is designed to help older adults manage their chronic illnesses including health disease and arthritis in a healthy and active way. The project is composed of the following services; health seminar, free screenings, exercise classes and support group.
Taking Charge of Your Health funded by AgeOtions: is designed to provide opportunities for older adults to learn about how to take care of their health. This 6 week long support group teach participants about how to and what to ask questions about their health when they see a doctor, and how to deal with chronic pain in their everyday life. In addition, participants receive social and emotional peer support and have a chance to share their coping skills through the project.
Open Mind funded by Coalition of Limited English Speaking Elderly: is a 8-week support group designed to prevent depression among older adults over the age 60. Through the support group, participants have opportunities to share their concerns and issues such as loneliness and loss of spouse & status which are more likely to arouse painful & distressing feelings, and learn about how to deal with those feelings. With physical exercise and activities, they also learn about how to live everyday with full of hope and energy.

HFA provides health seminars and screenings in order to promote wellness of the medically disadvantaged in Chicago. Working in partnership with state and local health organizations and professionals, HFA educates youth, adults and seniors on public health issues such as cancer, diabetes, arthritis, osteoporosis, hypertension, substance abuse and mental issues in a culturally and linguistically appropriate way. Screening services including diagnosis, preventive screening, and vaccination are also provided. For upcoming health seminar and screening schedule, please go to the upcoming event board. |

HFA serves pregnant women, children and their parents by linking them to IllinoisĄŻ health care programs; Moms & Babies, All Kids, and Family Care, which provide comprehensive and affordable health care coverage for the under- or uninsured children and their parents. Application and primary care doctor selection assistance are provided. For information regarding eligibility and cost sharing, go to the All Kids board. |

HFA offers resources and referral services regarding health care services and programs available in the community. Those who do not know what to do and where to go for affordable health care services and assistance will receive information and be referred to appropriate service providers.
