HFA helps the citizenship application process from determine the immigrants' eligibility for naturalization to interview. In compliance with Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and refugee Right (ICIRR) ¡®s New American Initiatives, HFA completes citizenship applications and obtain necessary documents. We also advocate on behalf of applicants with the Immigration and Naturalization Services and assist the voters¡¯ registration.
 

HFA has been offering diverse assistances at a minimal fee set by the state government as a service provider registered at Illinois Attorney General¡¯s Office since 2005. The services include, but not limited to interpretation and translation of immigration notices and letters assistance for gathering, maintaining, and completing evidences or supporting documents completion of immigration petitions and applications case progress check and follow-up; and referral to immigration attorneys.

 

The elderly are often targeted as easy victime of crime. In an effort to protect the elderly, HFA¡¯s Crime Prevention and Victime Assistance Program teaches Korean elderly protective techniques and proeventative measures. The elderly are also informed about and referred to the appropriate legal system, in an event they are victimized.

The program provides crime prevention workshops in collaboration with the Chicago Police Department, Attorney General's Office and other community organizations, In addition, counseling services for victims of crime and their family, escort services for those who are homebound are provided. This program is funded by the Office of the Attorney General State of lllinois.

HFA provides special services and assistance for victime of elder abuse and neglect. HFA has established partnership with Coalition of Limited English Speaking Elderly to implement Elder Abuse and Neglect Provintion Project for Korean elderly residing in the City of Chicago. This project provides education seminars to the community and individual assistance for victims of various types of elder abuse.
