ESL Classes

A basic working knowledge of English is necessary to function in the United States. Hanul addresses immigrants’ struggles with the language barrier through English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. There are two tracks of classes from which to choose. One, students may opt to enroll in ESL classes taught by HFA instructors. These classes are offered Mondays through Thursdays throughout the year. Please contact Lydia Park at 773-478-8851 ext.105 to register.

Small Group Tutoring

Hanul Family Alliance offers free one-on-one or small group tutoring to anyone interested. We pair you with volunteers and you meet on a weekly basis. Here you can improve your literacy skills in a smaller focused setting. We are proud to be a recipient of The Illinois State Library Adult Volunteer Literacy Grant that helps fund for this program. If you are interested in volunteering or know anyone interested in free English tutoring small groups, please contact Charlene Choi at 773-478-8851 ext.111.
